The iconic Swedish camera manufacturer has created a customized L2D-20c aerial camera for DJI. Applying rigorous standards to hardware and software performance that takes the Mavic 3 camera to a new level in aerial imaging. Some key features of this new camera are a 20 megapixel micro 4/3 CMOS sensor, adjustable aperture, 24mm focal length, and vision detection autofocus (VDAF).
The Mavic 2 Pro has a 1" CMOS sensor, while the Mavic 3 now packs a Micro 4/3 sensor. A larger image sensor provides many benefits like increased dynamic range and better low-light performance. These larger sensors can be found in cameras like the DJI Zenmuse X5S which is flown on the Inspire 2.
The Mavic 3 has professional video capabilities, boasting up 5.1k video, 4k at 120fps and the M3 Cine version supports Apple ProRes 422 HQ. In comparison to the 4K H.265 compression found in the Mavic 2.
The M3 Classic features all the characteristics of the Mavic 3 minus the telephoto zoom camera, enabling DJI to offer it at a lower price point.
