The Candrone Drone Flight Review Booking and Prep Course brings preparation and the required in-person flight review together, enabling eligible pilots to complete the flight review step toward their Advanced RPAS Pilot Certificate.

• Complete the required Advanced flight review: The in-person assessment provides the flight review required for pilots pursuing an Advanced RPAS Pilot Certificate and is not required for Basic certificate holders.
• Complete your review with a certified reviewer: The assessment is conducted by a Candrone Transport Canada certified flight reviewer.
• Prepare before your assessment: Included prep course material covers assessment criteria and practical competencies so you know what to expect before your review.
• Complete the final flight review step: Pilots who have completed the required ground school and Advanced RPAS written exam can use the review to complete the flight assessment portion of their certification pathway.

Overview and Who It's For

The Drone Flight Review is the Transport Canada-mandated in-person assessment required to obtain an Advanced RPAS Pilot Certificate. It evaluates a pilot's ability to safely and competently operate a remotely piloted aircraft system and is conducted in person by a Candrone certified flight reviewer.

This booking includes access to prep course material covering the assessment criteria and practical competencies evaluated during the review. Candidates must have passed the Advanced RPAS written exam before the flight review can be conducted.

• Pilots who have completed ground school and flight training: Complete the flight review requirement for Advanced RPAS certification.
• Professionals pursuing Advanced certification: Prepare for operations requiring an Advanced RPAS Pilot Certificate across professional applications.
• Students completing the Candrone RPAS Training and Advanced Pilot Certification Bundle: Complete the flight review component of the certification pathway.

FAQs

Is the flight review mandatory for all RPAS pilots?
No. The flight review is required for Advanced RPAS Pilot Certificate applicants and is not required for Basic certificate holders.

What does the flight review assess?
The reviewer evaluates your ability to safely set up, pre-flight, operate, and respond to emergency scenarios with a remotely piloted aircraft. The included prep course covers the practical competencies assessed.

Do I need to complete ground school before booking the flight review?
Yes. Candidates must have passed the Advanced RPAS written exam before the flight review can be conducted. If you still require ground school, Candrone's RPAS Online Drone Training or full RPAS Training and Advanced Pilot Certification Bundle may be appropriate.

What aircraft can I use for the flight review?
Small drones are accepted for flight reviews. DJI Mini series drones are accepted provided they are registered with Transport Canada. FPV drones are not accepted. If you require a drone for your flight review, contact support@candrone.com for further arrangements.

What happens if I do not pass the flight review?
Contact our team to discuss rebooking options. The prep course material is available to review before attempting again.
