Can the Zenmuse S1 be used at the same time as a camera payload?
Yes. The S1 is designed for multi-payload platforms and can be mounted alongside camera payloads such as the Zenmuse H30 Series. On the Matrice 400, it synchronises gimbal movement automatically with the H30 to align the beam with the camera's field of view.

What is the difference between the four lighting modes?
Low Beam provides a wide 15-degree beam reaching approximately 150 metres -- best for area illumination and fill light at 5x zoom or above. High Beam uses the LEP source in a narrow 4-degree beam reaching approximately 300 metres. Both On mode combines both sources for maximum output up to 500 metres. Strobe provides high-frequency flashing for signalling or hazard warning.

Is the Zenmuse S1 safe to use near people on the ground?
The S1 carries IEC 62471 Risk Group 1 eye safety classification. When the aircraft is on the ground or hovering idle, an automatic protection feature limits output to 40% of maximum brightness. Avoid directing the High Beam at eye level from close range. Always follow your organisation's safety protocols for aerial lighting operations.

Does the S1 require the DJI RC Plus?
Yes for Matrice 350 RTK and Matrice 300 RTK. The DJI RC Plus is the only compatible remote for these aircraft. The Matrice 400 is compatible with its own standard controller.
