Emlid Reach LoRa Antenna - RS3 / RS2+ / RS2 / RS+

$27.00 CAD

The Emlid Reach RS+ LoRa Antenna restores the built-in LoRa radio function on the original Reach RS and RS+, enabling base-to-rover RTK correction delivery at distances up to 8 km without a cellular connection or NTRIP network.

  • Required for LoRa radio operation on the RS+ and original RS -- The LoRa antenna must be attached before the built-in radio can transmit or receive corrections. A missing or damaged antenna disables the correction link entirely.
  • Up to 8 km base-to-rover range without cellular -- The 868/915 MHz LoRa link delivers RTK corrections between base and rover across most open field and forestry survey baselines without requiring a SIM card or network connection.
  • Compatible with RS+, original RS, and Reach M+ LoRa Radio -- One antenna covers both legacy Emlid field receivers and the M+ external LoRa radio module used on UAV and mobile platforms.
  • Low cost, high consequence -- stock a spare -- At a low unit price, this antenna should be kept as a spare in every field kit running RS+ or original RS receivers on base-rover workflows.

Overview and Who It's For

The Reach RS+ LoRa Antenna connects to the LoRa antenna port on the Reach RS+ and original Reach RS receivers, enabling the built-in LoRa radio to transmit and receive RTK correction data between base and rover at distances up to 8 km line-of-sight. It is also compatible with the Reach M+ external LoRa radio module.

Without this antenna attached, the LoRa radio cannot function. Teams running base-rover setups on the RS+ or original RS in areas without cellular coverage depend on this antenna as their sole correction delivery path.

Note: This antenna is compatible with the Reach RS+ and original Reach RS only. It is not the correct antenna for the RS2, RS2+, or RS3 -- those receivers use the ANT-LORA-2 LoRa antenna. If you are unsure which receiver you have, contact our team before ordering.

Best suited for:

  • Surveying and Mapping -- Replacement or spare antenna for base-rover RTK setups on RS+ or original RS units without cellular coverage
  • Forestry and Environmental -- Remote site surveys where LoRa radio is the primary correction method
  • Mining -- Field operations where LTE connectivity is limited and base-rover LoRa links are the correction delivery method

What's Included

  • Emlid Reach RS+ LoRa Antenna x1

Training and Certification

No Transport Canada RPAS certification is required to operate this antenna or any Emlid Reach receiver as a ground-based GNSS unit.

For teams integrating Emlid receivers into drone mapping or LiDAR ground control workflows, Transport Canada RPAS certification requirements apply to the aircraft being flown. Candrone Academy offers online ground school and exam prep for pilots looking to get certified or upgrade to Advanced.

For teams deploying in public safety or professional contexts, Advanced RPAS Certification unlocks operations near people and in controlled airspace commonly required for municipal, SAR, and emergency services use.

FAQs

Is this the correct LoRa antenna for the RS2+ or RS3? No. This antenna is compatible with the Reach RS+ and original Reach RS only. The RS2, RS2+, and RS3 use a different LoRa antenna (Emlid SKU: ANT-LORA-2). Contact our team if you are unsure which receiver model you have before ordering.

Do I need this antenna to use the LoRa radio on my RS+? Yes. The antenna must be attached before the built-in LoRa radio can function. Never power on the LoRa radio without the antenna connected -- operating without an antenna can damage the radio module.

What happens if the antenna is lost or damaged in the field? The LoRa correction link goes down entirely. Without it you would need to switch to NTRIP corrections via LTE or adjust your correction method on site. Keeping a spare in the field kit avoids this scenario.

Does it work with the Reach M+ LoRa radio module? Yes. This antenna is also compatible with the external Reach M+ LoRa radio module used on UAV platforms and mobile mapping rigs.
