Emlid Reach RS4 Weekly Rental

$500.00 CAD

The Emlid Reach RS4 brings all-band RTK GNSS and IMU tilt compensation to professional survey and construction workflows, enabling field teams to capture centimetre-accurate points quickly across a full workday without interruption.

  • Centimetre accuracy even under canopy: All-band L1/L2/L5/L6 GNSS across 672 channels tracks 40+ satellites simultaneously, maintaining a stable fix in forests, urban canyons, and near reflective structures.
  • Tilt and shoot without re-levelling: IMU tilt compensation initialises in under 5 seconds and holds accuracy to 18 mm at 30 degrees throughout the day, so crews can capture corners, ditch bottoms, and fence lines without levelling the rod.
  • Base or rover in one unit: Dual-band LoRa and UHF radio lets the RS4 operate as base station for drone GCP work or as a rover receiving network corrections -- no additional hardware needed.
  • Built for Canadian field conditions: Magnesium alloy body, IP68 rating, 16-hour battery, and an operating range of -40°C to +65°C mean the RS4 keeps working regardless of weather or site conditions.

Overview and Who It's For

The Reach RS4 is an all-band RTK GNSS receiver with IMU tilt compensation, dual-band radio, and 672-channel GNSS tracking. It delivers 7 mm + 1 ppm horizontal accuracy and operates as both base and rover via LoRa, UHF, or NTRIP. Controlled through Emlid Flow on iOS or Android, it supports topographic survey, stakeout, RINEX logging for PPK, and base-station workflows for drone operations.

This listing is for weekly rental. Contact Candrone to confirm availability and discuss base-and-rover configurations or multi-week rates.

Primary verticals:

  • Surveying and Mapping - Topographic surveys, boundary work, and construction stakeout where fast tilt compensation and all-band tracking reduce setup time and improve productivity in challenging environments.
  • Civil and Power - As-built documentation, cut and fill, and layout work on active construction sites where crew efficiency and reliable GNSS performance under obstructions matter.
  • Mining and Aggregate - Ground control points for drone photogrammetry and Lidar missions, volume verification, and site control across open-pit and aggregate operations.

Also suited for: drone operators requiring ground control points for aerial mapping missions across any vertical.

FAQs

What is the difference between the Reach RS4 and the Reach RS4 Pro?
The RS4 Pro adds dual Full HD cameras to the RS4 platform, enabling AR stakeout and image-based measurement of inaccessible points. All accuracy specifications, GNSS capabilities, radio options, battery life, and ruggedness are identical. If your work involves measuring points you cannot physically access or need AR stakeout guidance, consider renting the RS4 Pro instead.

Can I use the RS4 as a base station for drone GCP work?
Yes. The RS4 operates as both base and rover. As a base, it streams RTCM3 corrections via Emlid NTRIP Caster over internet or local Wi-Fi, and is compatible with most RTK-enabled drones including models from DJI and Autel. It also supports UHF radio correction links for areas without cellular coverage.

Can I log RINEX data for PPK post-processing?
Yes. The RS4 logs raw GNSS data in RINEX format to its 16 GB internal storage. This supports PPK workflows where real-time RTK correction is unavailable or where you need an independent accuracy verification for your data.

Does the LoRa radio require a licence in Canada?
No. The 915 MHz LoRa radio operates licence-free in Canada under Industry Canada RSS-210. The UHF 450 MHz radio transmits up to 2 W and may require a licence depending on your application -- contact Candrone's Solutions team for guidance.

How do I set up a rental?
