Most motorcycle footage ends up shaky, wind-blown, and difficult to reframe after the fact. The Insta360 X5 BMW Motorrad Edition changes the equation with 8K 360° capture, FlowState stabilization with full horizon lock, and a 15m waterproof body built to handle whatever the ride throws at it. The BMW Motorrad Edition comes with a co-branded Mini Remote, carry pouch, and Ultra 2,800mAh battery so you're ready to shoot from the moment you unbox it.
- 8K 360° video at 30fps: Dual 1/1.28-inch sensors and triple AI chip processing deliver sharp, colourful footage in any lighting. Reframe to any angle after the ride using InstaFrame 2.0 — no need to plan the shot in advance.
- FlowState stabilization and 360° horizon lock: Keeps footage smooth and level on uneven roads, without a gimbal. Virtual Gimbal modes let you adjust pitch lock, follow, and FPV tracking in post.
- Waterproof to 15m standalone: No housing required. Compatible with the Invisible Dive Case for up to 60m depth if your adventures go underwater.
- Up to 208 minutes in Endurance Mode: Extended battery life for long touring days. The included Ultra 2,800mAh battery and fast-charge support (80% in 20 minutes) keep downtime short.
- BMW Motorrad Edition accessories included: Co-branded Mini Remote with base and strap, carry pouch, and Ultra battery ship in the box. Pair with SENA or Cardo Bluetooth headsets for dual-track audio capture on the road.
Overview and Who It's For
The Insta360 X5 BMW Motorrad Edition is designed for riders who want a complete point-of-view capture solution without carrying multiple cameras or planning shots manually. The 360° format lets you ride and choose the best angle later, while AI-powered editing in the Insta360 app simplifies the workflow from ride to finished clip.
- Motorcycle touring and adventure riding: Road Mode, Plate Blur, and Stats Dashboard add context to long-distance footage. The invisible selfie stick effect produces clean third-person views without a visible mount.
- Action and outdoor sports: Waterproofing, rugged lens design, and Active HDR at 5.7K60 make the X5 capable well beyond the bike. Track days, off-road riding, kayaking, and skiing all supported.
- Content creators and vloggers: Gesture, voice, and twist-to-shoot controls mean no assistant required. Insta360+ cloud backup and AI editing tools accelerate the post-production workflow.

FAQs
Do I need a waterproof housing to use the X5 in the rain or near water?
No. The Insta360 X5 is waterproof to 15m without any additional housing. For underwater diving or deeper submersion, the optional Invisible Dive Case extends the rating to 60m.
Can I use the X5 with my existing Bluetooth headset?
Yes. The X5 supports direct Bluetooth headset connection for dual-track audio, including SENA and Cardo models popular with motorcycle riders. This allows clean voice audio alongside ambient sound capture.
What makes the BMW Motorrad Edition different from the standard X5?
The BMW Motorrad Edition includes co-branded accessories: a Mini Remote with base and strap, a carry pouch, and the Ultra 2,800mAh battery — all with BMW Motorrad Edition branding. The camera hardware and specs are the same as the standard X5.
How does 360° video help with motorcycle content?
Shooting in 360° means every angle is captured simultaneously. Instead of planning shots in advance or missing a moment, you reframe to the best angle after the ride using InstaFrame 2.0 in the Insta360 app. The invisible selfie stick effect removes the mount from the frame for a clean third-person perspective.
